1. team. 11. . (12-5). Previous: . Baltimore Orioles
Number One: Baltimore Orioles (12-5)
Baltimore is a good team, and they deserve the top spot this week.
They have proven that they are the real deal and that the rest of the division should get their act together before the Orioles start to build a gap.
It’s been smooth sailing in Baltimore, but my dad always told me to go with my gut, and that’s what I’m going to do. Baltimore isn’t a contender. Sooner or later, reality is going to set in.
Sure, I admit they can grow a strong lead, but they are not a team capable of closing out a division race.
I’m a homer, but I’m also a realist. I think this division is still Boston’s to lose, but what are sports without some drama?
Orioles fans, understand that I’m not mean, I’m just realistic. Camden Yards is a wonderful place, and Baltimore is a great city, but it’s just not meant to hold a championship caliber baseball team.

The “it’s still early” argument holds true for every team in the league, and Baltimore is no exception. It’s still early for them to fall off from the top, and I’m sticking with my gut and saying it’s going to happen.
