Number Three: Boston Red Sox (11-8)

Watching the Red Sox is like watching Jaws for the first time. You’re scared watching it, you don’t know when it’s coming, but when it does, it’s going to happen quickly.

It’s just taking the Sox a little while to put the parts together, but when they do, that engine is going to purr.

The Red Sox pitching continues to be lackluster. David Price is hurt, and both Rick Porcello and Steven Wright continue to struggle.

All of that is not to take away from Chris Sale. Sale had an unbelievable outing against the Blue Jays last week, but the bats couldn’t get it going for him.

AL East fans have to recognize that even though the Red Sox sit at third again, it’s not going to be long until they find their way to the top. They have young bats and pitching that just has to find it’s stride.

I’m sure the fishermen of Essex, Mass. aren’t thrilled with this week’s spot, but they can take that up with me next week.
