Road Success Continues

The New York Rangers struggled mightily down the stretch run of the regular season at Madison Square Garden. They lost eight consecutive games at MSG, including two to the Canadiens, before winning the final two. On the road, the Rangers handled their business, and they knew they would have to once again if they wanted to advance.

Handle their business is what they did. The Rangers have found a lot of success at the Bell Centre in the postseason and this year was no different. The Rangers went 2-1 on the road in the series, winning Game 1 and Game 4. They lost their only game at Montreal in the regular season, as the Canadiens swept the Rangers in regular season play.

If the Rangers are going to continue advancing in the postseason they need road wins; they will not have home-ice advantage in any round of the 2017 NHL Playoffs. That should not phase them at all, as they have found success away from Madison Square Garden all season, going 27-12-2 on the road and 21-16-4 at home.
