It was a very disappointing 2016 season for the New York Jets. After nearly making the playoffs in 2016, the Jets really struggled last season and ended up as one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Even though the Jets clearly had flaws, a tough schedule to start the season didn’t help. The Jets started with four of their first six games being on the road. Also, three of those six teams ended up making the playoffs in 2016.
With five losses in the first six games of the season, the Jets’ chances to make the playoffs were pretty much over by Week 7. Even though they finished with a poor record this season, the Jets have a pretty challenging schedule once again this season.
With four games in total against the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots, the Jets were automatically playing at least four games against playoff teams from a year ago. In addition to the division games, the AFC East also plays the AFC West this season. That means games against the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs, who were both also playoff teams last season.
For the Jets, playing four of the six playoff teams from the AFC this season will surely be a challenge. With the team expected to be one of the worst in the NFL this season, here are the five toughest games on the schedule in 2017.
