The New York Yankees are riding an eight-game winning streak, and don’t show signs of slowing down. Can the Bombers continue to stay atop the weekly power rankings?

New York Yankees baseball is nothing less than scorching hot right now, and doesn’t look like it’s ready to stop.

After a bit of a rough start, the Yanks have caught fire. They have been dazzling on all sides of the ball, and have found a good stride in the early part of the season. The only problem is that the AL East is without a doubt the toughest division in baseball.

From Baltimore to Bean Town there is just a competitive aura about the east, and regardless of who you root for, it’s just fun to watch. Let’s face facts here, baseball has gotten the reputation of being boring nowadays.

I for one think that’s garbage, but I’m also a traditionalist. Baseball is America’s pastime, and maybe a division like the AL East will spark baseball’s comeback. All of this young talent, paired with good competition is something fans across the nation will want to see.

Honestly, it’s a three-way toss up for the east, but this week there is a clear cut front runner. Let’s take a look at how the rest of the division stacks up in my first set of AL East power rankings.
