Recently, Bill Barnwell of ESPN released his all-trades mock draft. What deal did he have the New York Jets making?

Coming into the 2017 NFL Draft, the New York Jets have the sixth pick overall pick in the first round. After a poor season, the Jets certainly need to make sure they get a good player with the pick.

The Jets have multiple areas of need coming into the draft, and quarterback is certainly one of them. For quite some time, the Jets have been without a franchise quarterback, and it is something that has held the franchise back.

Coming into the draft, there has been some speculation that the Jets might indeed be looking to draft a quarterback once again. Even though the Jets have been using high picks on quarterbacks in recent years, they haven’t found one to lead them.

In Barnwell’s all-trades draft, he has them moving up in order to prevent another team from doing the same to take a quarterback. Here’s the move that Barnwell has the Jets making.

"Titans get: 1-6, 5-150, WR Eric DeckerJets get: 1-5, 6-214"

The Titans would certainly be getting a good haul from the Jets in order to just move up one spot. Even though Decker was hurt last season, he was a touchdown machine for the Jets and would be an excellent player to help the development of Marcus Mariota.

For the Jets, the move up would be for one of the quarterbacks available. Doing this deal wouldn’t be in the best interest of the Jets, as none of the quarterbacks appear to be can’t miss prospects. With needs in their secondary as well, staying put or trading down would be the best scenario for the Jets.

Next: Who are the 10 greatest first round picks in Jets history?

Barnwell’s article is certainly an entertaining one, but the move he has the Jets making wouldn’t help the team much. The Jets should be avoiding taking a quarterback in the first round, and wait to see what they have in Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg for a full season.
