The Yankees took game one of a three-game set against the Cardinals. Let’s see how they will fair in a mid-afternoon matchup today.

The Yankees snatched game one against the Cardinals yesterday 4-3. The Yankees have been nothing short of red hot, and they will look to continue it today in game two.

Sabathia logged five innings in a shutout effort in his last start, and is poised to do the same against a weary Cardinals lineup. Martinez got shelled last time out. In five innings of work, he gave up six hits, and five earned runs.

Martinez is prone to the big innings, and against a hot Yankee lineup, it isn’t looking too good for the Dominican Republic native.

The big player to watch today is without a doubt Aaron Judge. Judge is raking over the last week batting .333, with three long balls, and 6 RBIs. He has been the hottest hitter in the Yankee lineup, and against a big inning pitcher, he’s set to continue his ways.

The rest of the Yankee lineup has been stellar as well, and I would expect more of the same against this Cardinals staff. Outside of the big bat of Judge, the Yankees rank top ten in batting

average, slugging percentage, and home runs so far this season.

This game preaches predictability for the Bronx Bombers. With Martinez on the hill, they have to hit him, and hit him early. If they can do that it allows for Sabathina to work his usual five or six innings, and hand it over to the lights out Pinstripe ‘Pen.

Sabathia does his usual work, and the lineup keeps tearing the cover off of the ball, and this is an easy one in the win column for the Yankees. I think Judge is going to go yard again, and Sabathia is going to pick up his second win of the season.

Yankees win today 5-2.
