The New York Rangers face the Montreal Canadiens in Game 1 of their first-round matchup tonight at the Bell Centre. Here is all the information you need to watch the game.

The New York Rangers begin their quest for a Stanley Cup tonight. They will be facing off with the Montreal Canadiens in Round One, with the series starting at the Bell Centre.

The Rangers and Canadiens both had a very strong regular season. The Rangers come into the postseason as the first Wild Card team with 102 points. The Canadiens won the Atlantic Division with 103 points, earning home ice in at least the first round of the playoffs.

This is a matchup that will get fans excited. They both have outstanding goaltenders and are part of the original six. It will garner a lot of excitement said Canadiens left winger Alex Galchenyuk.

"“They have speed, we have speed, you know, two great goaltenders, and it’s definitely an interesting Original Six matchup,” Galchenyuk said. “So there’s going to be a lot of excitement.”"

Special teams will be important in this matchup. The Rangers finished the season strong on the power play, scoring on 34.2 percent of their man advantages in the final 15 games of the regular season. The Canadiens killed penalties at an 88.4 percent clip and were the least penalized team under Claude Julien, who took over as the team’s coach on February 14th.

More from New York Rangers

That was the theme for the teams throughout the season. The Rangers had one of the best offenses in the NHL, scoring the fourth most goals. The Canadiens had one of the top defenses, giving up the fourth least goals per game.

Something has to give in this series. Will the Rangers offense be able to solve the Canadiens defense? Or will Montreal’s defense slow down one of the most dynamic offenses in the NHL?

We will have to wait and see tonight. Here is all the information you will need to watch Game 1 between the Rangers and Canadiens tonight from the Bell Centre.
