Carey Price

Getting up for the playoffs is something every player should be able to do, especially when the game is to be played in front of your home crowd. But, for Price, this series has some added significance.

As we mentioned before, the last time these teams played Price didn’t last too long in the series. He gave up four goals in two periods before he was forced from the game because of injury. He will have plenty of motivation to make up for that performance and to help his team knock the Rangers out of the playoffs.

Price battled injury during the 2015-16 season, appearing in only 12 games. This season he was able to play in 62 games and played well. He had a record of 37-20-5 with a .923 save percentage and 2.23 goals against. It was a strong bounceback season for Price, who has been one of the best goalies in the NHL the past four seasons.

Price will be an important player in this series. He may have to carry the load, much like Lundqvist may have to for the Rangers. The Canadiens do not put as much pressure on Price as in years past, but he will still have a lot on his shoulders if Montreal wants to advance.
