Tight End. Alabama. O.J. Howard. 23. player. 31.

The Giants have had a good offseason thus far and will look to continue it in the 2017 NFL Draft. They have a few needs, but the most glaring is arguably at tight end. If Howard last this long in the draft you can bet the Giants draft board will be doing backflips.

Howard is reported to be atop the Giants draft board. They love him, and with good reason. While he didn’t have great stats at Alabama, he produced in a major way at the Senior Bowl, NFL Combine and Pro Day. He is shooting up draft boards and is one of the faster-rising prospects in the draft.

Howard would bring a lot to the Giants passing game. He can help stretch the defense up the seam with his athleticism, something Eli Manning has excelled at in his career. As an added bonus, Howard excels in run blocking; an area of concern for the Giants.

Last season the Giants had the worst rated tight end in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus in Will Tye. Howard would be an immediate upgrade on Tye even if tight end is regarded as one of the tougher positions for players to make a transition from the collegiate game to the NFL. His skills as a run blocker are enough to make the Giants happy with this selection.
