Running Back. LSU. Leonard Fournette. 14. player. 54.

With the 14th pick in our mock draft, the Philadelphia Eagles will be getting another cornerstone offensive player. Last season, the Eagles traded up to draft quarterback Carson Wentz. Despite coming from a small college, the Eagles thought Wentz could be their guy, and they appear to be right.

Wentz had a very strong rookie season for the Eagles, and the future appears to be bright in Philadelphia. Now, the Eagles must surround Wentz with talented players on offense to help him out. They have a pretty good receiving corps led by Jordan Matthews, and now they will add Leonard Fournette to help their running game.

Coming from LSU, Fournette had a fantastic season in 2015, as he totaled 1,953 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns. Fournette battled some injuries in his junior season, which kept him from matching the great season. Also, that may have hurt his draft stock a bit. However, adding Fournette to the offense with Wentz could give the Eagles to young building blocks on offense.

While Fournette wasn’t much of a pass-catcher in college, he is arguably the best runner in the draft class. Dalvin Cook was taken a few picks earlier by the Carolina Panthers. However, Fournette is an excellent running back and will be able to help right away.
