53. . Quarterback. Clemson. Deshaun Watson. 12. player

Since the Browns selected Myles Garrett with their first overall pick, that still leaves them with a need at the quarterback position. With the 12th overall pick, the Browns will address that by selecting DeShaun Watson from Clemson.

At 12th, this is a pretty good spot to take Watson for the Browns. They were already able to draft the best player in the NFL Draft, and now they fill a need at the quarterback position. One of the reasons why the Browns have been so poor over the years is because of their awful quarterbacks.

The organization hasn’t been able to sign, trade, or draft a franchise quarterback, and this has left them in a rough spot. Last season, the Browns passed on Carson Wentz. Instead of taking Wentz, the Browns traded the pick to the Philadelphia Eagles. Wentz went on to have a good rookie season in Philadelphia, and the move surely left some in Cleveland kicking themselves.

Watson had a very nice career at Clemson, as he was able to cap off his college career with a National Championship win against Alabama. The defense for Alabama is littered with NFL draft picks, and Watson was able to shine in that game. He may not be a home run prospect, but he could be the answer the Browns are looking for.
