Matt Kemp Crushes Mets

The Braves always seem to have a player that absolutely crushes the Mets. Chipper Jones did it for years, and Freddie Freeman has continued the tradition. Adonis Garcia has also had success against the Mets in his short career. Now, you can add Matt Kemp to that list.

Kemp has spent almost his whole career in the NL West, so he hasn’t faced the Mets much. But, he has done some damage in his career against them. In 263 career at-bats, Kemp has slashed .323/.374/.513 with 28 extra base hits and 44 RBI. He added to those numbers this week.

Kemp was a thorn in the Mets side all series. He was a one-man wrecking crew for the Braves in the middle of their order. Kemp went 6-for-13 in the series, hitting three doubles in the second game and two home runs in the series finale. He finished with four RBI, knocking in all but one of the Braves runs all series.

The Braves lineup will not perform this poorly all season. Kemp will not hit .463 either, but he has a chance to add some pop to a Braves lineup that lacked it last season. He will be a fixture in the middle of the Braves lineup all season and will be a problem for the Mets every time he is penciled into the lineup.
