Bartolo Colon Returns

Bartolo Colon was an important part of the Mets pitching staff for the past three seasons. He did whatever was best for the team, pitching out of the bullpen or in the starting rotation. Colon became a fan favorite with his performance on the mound and at-bats. But, the Mets did not retain him this offseason. The Braves paid him a lot of money and the Mets had plenty of other options to turn to.

As a result, Colon now faces off against the Mets instead of pitching for them. He showed, at least for one game, that he still has plenty to offer a team. Colon started Game 2 for the Braves and received a major ovation during introductions. Mets fans had to be disappointed in what ensued.

Colon fired a gem of a start, matching deGrom. Colon pitched six innings, surrendering only two hits and one walk that resulted in one run. He also added six strikeouts in a strong effort against his former team.

Colon is one of the reasons that the Braves cannot be taken lightly this season. He is a gamer and will keep the team in the game every time he takes the mound much like he did for the Mets the past three years.
