New York Mets Reach World Series in MLB the Show 17 Simulation
By Nick Ziegler
Our friends at AppTrigger.com recently simulated an entire season of MLB the Show 17. How did the New York Mets do in the simulation?
After injuries derailed the New York Mets last season, they are hungry to get back to the World Series in 2017.
The 2016 season was a frustrating one for the Mets. Despite reaching the World Series in 2015, the Mets were unable to find that success in 2016. Mostly because of injuries, the Mets fell short of achieving their goals.
This season, the Mets are relatively healthy going into the season, and they are hungry to complete unfinished business. Recently, our friends at AppTrigger.com did a complete season simulation of MLB the Show 17. In their simulation, the Mets were able to win the National League East with a 94-68 record. As expected, it was a close race between them and the Nationals, as they edged out their rival by one game.
On offense, Yoenis Cespedes had an excellent season in the simulation with 31 home runs. In addition to the great season offensively, Cespedes also won a gold glove. He was backed up by Jacob deGrom leading the talented rotation with an ERA of 2.04.
As the winners of the NL East, the Mets made the playoffs and had a divisional round matchup against the defending champs. Furthermore, the Mets were able to defeat the Cubs in five games to advance to the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In the NLCS, the Mets were able to outlast the Dodgers to reach the World Series for the second time in three years. Unfortunately for the Mets, the Boston Red Sox were able to get revenge for 1986, as they defeated the Mets in six games.

Even though the Mets lost in the World Series in the simulation, it shows how good the team can be this season. If the Mets are able to remain healthy, they could certainly be in the World Series once again this season.
