The New York Knicks have had an awful season, and Courtney Lee is especially frustrated because of the talent they have.

It has been an extremely disappointing season for the New York Knicks. Coming into the 2016-17 season, there were expectations of making the playoffs. After a decent start to the season, things have spiraled downward for the Knicks.

This offseason, Phil Jackson looked like he made some good moves at the time. The trade for Derrick Rose gave the Knicks an athletic point guard that they have so desperately desired for the past few seasons. While it did cost the Knicks Robin Lopez, Jackson was able to sign Joakim Noah to replace him.

In addition to signing Noah, shooting guard Courtney Lee was also signed by the Knicks. Lee was a member of the Orlando Magic team that lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals. Despite that team having way more success than the Knicks did this season, Lee still believes this team has more talent.

"“Getting to the Finals is an accomplishment, and that’s tough because it’s a long road to get there. Win or lose in that situation, you know you went out there and competed and you were above the majority of the teams, you were in the final two,” Lee said to Fred Kerber of the New York Post  “But this is definitely frustrating because we have the talent,” said Lee, who signed a four-year, $50 million free-agent deal with the Knicks last offseason. “If I had to compare all the teams I’ve been on, this is probably the most talented team if you look at it on paper. It’s just everything didn’t come together. Everything just didn’t work out.”"

Seeing Lee say that this was a more talented team than the Magic one that reached the finals isn’t shocking. On paper, the Knicks looked great this season. There were, of course, some injury concerns, but they have been fairly healthy outside of Noah. However, things just haven’t worked out on the court.

Lee signed with the Knicks with the hope of competing for an NBA Title this season. Sadly, the Knicks are much closer to having a Top-3 pick than they are making the playoffs this season.
