It has been a frustrating season for Brooklyn Nets point guard Jeremy Lin, who suffered another injury in their recent loss to the Mavericks.

One of the biggest signings for the Brooklyn Nets this offseason was the signing of Jeremy Lin. After a solid season with the Charlotte Hornets, Lin was brought in to be the starting point guard for the Nets.

Even though the Nets knew they weren’t going to be a playoff team this season, they were hoping to be better than they are. One of the reasons for the struggles has surely been the injuries that have kept Lin out for extended periods of time this season.

In a loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, Lin left early with an ankle injury. After missing so much time already this season, Lin feared the worst.

"“It’s the story of my season,” Lin said to Ryan Lazo of the New York Post. “Every time we’re about to hit our stride, get into a rhythm or we start to figure things out, something’s happened.”"

Luckily for Lin and the Nets, it was just an ankle injury this time. As a frequent injury for NBA players, Lin shouldn’t be out for an extended period of time.

"“I’m thankful it was just an ankle and not a hamstring or something like that,” Lin said to Lazo. “This is more of my comfort zone. Every basketball player has gone through ankle injuries.”“I’m ready to get going, get through this rehab process,” Lin said to Lazo. “I’m excited that it’s not the same rehab process that I’ve been through before. Not the same length or duration…. I’m excited [to get back into games].”"

When Lin has been on the court, he has played well for the Nets. This season, Lin is averaging 13.7 points and 4.9 assists per game.

Sadly, Lin has only played in 25 games for the Nets this season. After signing a big deal in the offseason, this season has been a disappointment for Lin and the Nets. However, the Nets are a team that is building for the future, and a healthy Lin can still be a big part of that.
