March Madness: Top Performers From East Region in Round of 32
By Nick Ziegler
Terry Maston
Despite USC being an extremely hot team, the Baylor Bears were able to get the job done in the Round of 32. It was tough to choose the top performer from Baylor, as they had two players both really play well throughout the game.
In the starting lineup, Johnathan Motley played excellent for Baylor. He was able to total 19 points and 10 rebounds, but he did commit five turnovers and fouled out late in the game. Coming off the bench once again was the top performer for Baylor, as Terry Maston had an excellent game. In the win, Maston totaled 19 points and nine rebounds off the bench. This was the second straight game in the tournament that Maston was able to total 19 points and nine rebounds. Getting that type of production from the bench has certainly helped Baylor in the tournament so far.
While both Maston and Motley played very well, credit also has to go to Manu Lecomte. In a crucial stretch late in the second half, Lecomte was able to go on a quick scoring run by himself to change the game. The strong game from Maston has helped Baylor advance to the Sweet 16, as they will be facing South Carolina.
