March Madness: Top Performers From East Region in Round of 32
By Nick Ziegler
Devin Robinson
Unless you were a Florida Gators fan, the matchup between Florida and Virginia was almost unwatchable. All season, Virginia has been a team that has struggled to score points. After scoring over 70 in the first round, Virginia wasn’t able to crack 40 points in the loss to Florida. Even though Florida has a good defense, this was certainly a surprising outcome.
In the win, it was Devin Robinson who once again shined for Florida. Robinson was the top performer for Gators once again, as he is a player that is rising to the occasion in the tournament. In the win, Robinson was able to total a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. This is the third straight good game for Robinson and the second straight big game in the tournament.
In addition to Robinson, Justin Leon was also able to total a double-double. Coming into the tournament, Florida was struggling to rebound. With Robinson performing well on the glass, the Gators have fixed one of their flaws entering the tournament. It has been important that Robinson is playing well because KeVaughn Allen struggled once again. If the Gators want to continue to advance, they will need Allen to break out of the funk that he has been in.
