Recent New York Knicks rumors are that the Knicks don’t plan on firing head coach Jeff Hornacek according to the New York Post.

Most New York Knicks rumors lately have been about what the future of the Knicks will look like. After coming into the season with playoff expectations, the Knicks have been a disappointment this season.

Due to the struggles, there have been some discussions about Jeff Hornacek’s job being in jeopardy. Most of the time, a head coach of a team the under-achieves will have the blame placed on him.

Despite the struggles, it doesn’t appear that Hornacek will be losing his job after one season. According to Marc Berman, the Knicks won’t fire Hornacek after the season.

"Hornacek, according to an NBA source, gets high grades on both counts — maintaining a strong rapport with Jackson and associate head coach Kurt Rambis, Jackson’s longtime compatriot.“Phil can’t afford to fire [Hornacek] and bring in a new coach,’’ said another NBA source to Berman, who has spoken to Jackson."

Even though the Knicks have struggled, Jackson can’t afford to fire another head coach. Despite being one of best coaches of all-time, Jackson has struggled to find a coach as the President. Recently, Jackson has been at practice trying to help with the triangle offense.

The hiring of Hornacek led many to believe that the Knicks would speed up their offense a bit. As the head coach of the Suns, Hornacek and the Suns were one of the most explosive offenses in the league. We haven’t quite seen that with the Knicks, but the offense has been a bit quicker than in previous years.

Despite the struggles, retaining Hornacek is the right move for the Knicks. Having some stability on the bench is something that the Knicks haven’t had in years, and could be one of the reasons why they have struggled.
