NFL Free Agency is nearly here, and the New York Jets might be looking to sign a quarterback. Here are five options for them in free agency.

One of the major issues for the New York Jets for the last decade has been the quarterback position. They have tried to address the issue through free agency and the NFL Draft, but nothing as worked.

In 2016, the quarterback situation for the Jets might have hit a new low. They started three different quarterbacks, but they will enter 2017 with a lot of uncertainty at the position.

As of now, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg are the two quarterbacks on the roster. Last season, Petty got a chance to start a few games, however, the results weren’t very good. Petty has a really strong arm, but he turned the ball over quite a bit.

For Jets fans, the Hackenberg situation was one of the most frustrating things of the season. Despite using a second round pick on Hackenberg, he didn’t play a single snap in his rookie season, and many don’t believe that he is going to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.

The other two quarterbacks that were on the roster in 2016 are both free agents. While Ryan Fitzpatrick certainly won’t be back, the Jets might consider Geno Smith to still be an option as a free agent.

This offseason could go in a number of ways for the Jets at quarterback. If they elect to use free agency to acquire their third quarterback, these five players could be options.
