The Wizards were reportedly looking into acquiring Jennings prior to the NBA Trade Deadline. They were in desperate need of upgrading their bench, as they were also rumored to be looking at Lou Williams. Williams ended up with the Houston Rockets, and the Wizards settled on acquiring Bojan Bogdanovic from the Brooklyn Nets.

Now, they can get Jennings without having to surrender any future assets. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Wizards are currently the frontrunners to land Jennings once he clears waivers.

Jennings would be an excellent addition to a Wizards team that relies heavily on John Wall and Bradley beal in the backcourt. There isn’t much depth there as Trey Burke has not played well. Tomas Satoransky has been decent, but more depth wouldn’t hurt.

Jennings would provide that depth. Along with Bogdanovic, the Wizards bench would also be greatly improved. Jennings can run an offense and can get his own offense when need be. He would be a good addition to a Wizards team looking to make noise in the Eastern Conference.
