New York Knicks Takeaways From Quiet NBA Trade Deadline
The New York Knicks had a quiet NBA Trade Deadline, making no moves. Check out our slideshow of some takeaways from the moveless deadline.
The New York Knicks had an uneventful NBA Trade Deadline. After rumors swirled for days, the Knicks ended up not making any moves. There were plenty of talks taking place, but nothing came to fruition as the Knicks roster stayed intact through the NBA Trade Deadline.
The Knicks had a number of players that were brought up in rumors. Derrick Rose was the most prominent, as the Minnesota Timberwolves were hot on Rose’s trail before backing out right at the end. The Knicks also received calls from the Los Angeles Clippers on Courtney Lee after talking with them about Carmelo Anthony.
Even some reserve players were being talked about. The Phoenix Suns called about rookie Mindaugas Kuzminskas, while Brandon Jennings also received some interest. The Knicks also shopped backup center Kyle O’Quinn but had a high asking price of a first-round pick for him.
Alas, the rumors ended up being just that; rumors. The Knicks decided to not make any moves, sticking with the roster that went only 23-34 prior to the All-Star break. It was an interesting decision, as the Knicks looked poised to make at least one move, if not multiple, to begin reshaping their roster around Kristaps Porzingis.
Instead, the Knicks will finish the season with the same veteran-laden team that looks to be going nowhere. What is the fallout from the Knicks standing pat at the trade deadline? Check out our takeaways from the NBA Trade Deadline for the Knicks.
