New York Jets

There is an outside chance that Cruz stays in New York, and it is very realistic. The Jets had an abysmal season last year and could use a spark plug like Cruz to get their offense going in the right direction.

Fans have to look at this from the business standpoint for Cruz. He wouldn’t have to move his family, he could stay in a big market, and if the Jets don’t bring back Brandon Marshall then Cruz could make good money. At 30 years old Cruz isn’t exactly what I would call a “spring chicken”, and staying home would be very beneficial for him.

The biggest factor in Cruz wearing green next year is whether or not Marshall re-signs. If he walks, then it opens an opportunity to finish out his career without having to move at all. It would also be beneficial to the Jets as an organization because they have a solid slot guy in Quincy Enunwa.

Cruz played most of his career in the slot position, and he could help mold Enunwa into one of the best slot guys in the league. Meanwhile, Cruz would be going to a team that was awful last year, but there are positives for him with this deal.
