Round 3: Bucky Hodges: TE: Virginia Tech

Over the past two seasons, no team has gotten less production from the tight end position than the New York Jets. With John Morton as the new offensive coordinator, and that his system likes to use a tight end, it only makes sense for New York to draft a tight end.

Hodges could be an instant impact in the red zone at 6’7″ and has the speed to make plays after the catch. Hodges had almost 700 receiving yards and seven touchdown catches last season, and his combo of size and athleticism could become a matchup nightmare in the NFL.

While his run blocking may not be polished, his ability to make plays in the middle of the field would be a huge benefit to whoever is playing quarterback next season. If New York has Eric Decker, Brandon Marshall, and Quincy Enunwa at the receiver positions, the addition of Hodges could create nightmare matchups for defensive coordinators.
