Round 2: Gareon Conley: CB: Ohio State

Sticking with the defensive secondary, the Jets cornerback position is due for a major overhaul. Even if the team somehow can get Revis back at a lower price, the age and lack of depth in this unit were evident last season as the team was woeful in pass defense.

Conley is a great fit for Todd Bowles defense. Conley has good size at 6’1″ and 195 pounds; he could become a solid NFL corner and should be a day one starter. While he has struggled in zone coverages, the best part of his game is what New York is looking for.

A defensive back that can play man to man and is very good in press coverage is a perfect fit for an outside corner in the Jets defensive scheme. While he does struggle in tackling in the run game and has struggled in certain zone packages, Conley’s ability to play man coverage and athleticism could help him make an impact for the Jets.
