The Yankee Youth Movement

The Yankees bar-none have the best farm system in baseball, and it is ready to take over Bronx Bomber baseball. The list just goes on and on; Clint Frazier, Gleyber Torres, Jorge Mateo, Justus Sheffield, etc.

There is so much talent in the Yankees system, and hopefully, fans will get to see a lot of it in the Bronx this year. Nine of the Yankees top prospects ranked in the Baseball Prospectus Top 101, and it is for good reason. In a perfect world the Yanks will call up Frazier, Torres, and Matteo at some point this season, and fans will get a taste of the future of Yankees baseball.

The Yankees will already be sporting tons of youth out in the field with Judge, Bird, Austin, and Sanchez. There is space for these other guys to make their way into the lineup at some point or another. That being said, there is tons of youth in the pitching staff that fans should be very excited for.

Severino has already had Major League experience, some of it good and some of it bad, but it’s experience nonetheless. Justus Sheffield reminds me a lot of Andy Pettitte. He is a lefty that doesn’t have the flashiest numbers, but he pitches with a lot of grit. To go along with Sheffield and Severino the Yankees have Domingo Acevedo, James Kaprielian, and Dillon Tate.
