Playoff Streak

One of the top reasons why Mets fans should be excited about the 2017 season is because this has become a playoff team. In 2015, the Mets exceeded all expectations on their way to the playoffs. In their first postseason appearance in quite some time, the Mets were able to advance all the way to the World Series. Even though the Mets were defeated by the Kansas City Royals, it showed that the future is bright in New York.

Sadly, all of the extra innings thrown by their starters might have affected them in 2016. With high expectations, the Mets were unable to reach their potential. Injuries to a majority of their starting rotation certainly kept the Mets from reaching their goals in 2016. However, they showed a lot of heart and fight in grabbing a Wild Card spot. The Mets were unable to defeat Madison Bumgarner of the San Francisco Giants, but it was still a second playoff appearance in a row for them.

In 2017, the Mets will be attempting to reach the postseason for the third year in a row. With one of the best rotations in baseball and a solid lineup, the Mets should have no problems reaching the postseason.
