Baseball season is almost here, and that means the New York Mets will be starting their quest for a ring. What are five reasons why Mets fans should be excited about the 2017 season?

The New York Mets will be starting their 2017 soon, and there are plenty of reasons to be excited about this team.

After years of losing, the Mets are now one of the best teams in the National League. The Mets spent years growing some talented young starting pitchers, and they have started to make their impact in the majors. Injuries have slowed a few of them down, but they have one of the best rotations in baseball if they are all healthy.

In addition to the pitchers, the Mets have been spending some money on their lineup. Re-signing Yoenis Cespedes was key for the Mets this offseason, and they opened up their wallets to do so. Having Cespedes instantly makes the Mets’ offense better, as he is an MVP candidate.

After reaching the World Series in 2015, the Mets were unable to reach it once again in 2016. Despite being one of the most banged up teams in the majors, the Mets were still able to reach the playoffs. Unfortunately, they ran into the San Francisco Giants and Madison Bumgardner in the Wild Card Game. It is extremely difficult to beat Bumgardner in the postseason, and the Mets found that out first hand.

With players getting healthy and their core intact, there is a lot to like about the Mets this season. Here are five reasons why fans should be excited about the Mets.
