The New York Giants had a solid 2016 season. They ended their four-year playoff drought and won 11 games in the regular season. But, the season ended in disappointing fashion with a loss to the Green Bay Packers on Wild Card weekend.

The Giants are set up very well for the immediate future. Their defense took major strides in 2016 and became one of the top units in the NFL. Their offense is where they were let down, as injuries and ineffectiveness along the offensive line crippled their potential.

The Giants know where they need to improve this offseason to take that next step. An upgrade along the offensive line and at linebacker seems to be a yearly issue. Adding another receiver along with Odell Beckham Jr. and possibly a tight end wouldn’t hurt either.

Thankfully for the Giants, they can fill some of those holes prior to the NFL Draft during free agency. There are some good players that will hit the open market, and the Giants will be armed with about $30 million to spend. But, teams can never have too much available money.

If the Giants want, they can restructure some deals of release players to open up some more money to spend. Which players could be on the chopping block? Check out our slideshow of the five Giants that could be cap casualties in the coming weeks.
