New York Knicks: 3 Players Who Disappointed in Loss to Los Angeles Lakers
By Nick Ziegler
Derrick Rose
After missing a few games, Derrick Rose made his return to the lineup today. In his absence, Brandon Jennings was playing very well as the starting point guard. Despite Jennings playing well, the Knicks are certainly a better team with Rose on the court. Most likely due to rust, Rose did not play well in a golden matchup against the Lakers.
In the loss, Rose totaled 32 minutes, five points, four rebounds, two assists, and three turnovers. As the point guard, having more turnovers than assists is inexcusable, and it was one of the many reasons why the Knicks lost this game. Rose only attempted eight shots, however, he made just two of them.
Even though Rose returned, Jennings played a lot of minutes off the bench. Just because he was removed from the starting lineup, that didn’t stop Jennings from having a good game.

Rose has played well for the Knicks this season. The poor performance against the Lakers was certainly disappointing, as his slow start didn’t help the Knicks survive the early blitz from the Lakers. Moving forward, the Knicks will need Rose to be better. In all likelihood, Rose will bounce back, however, this was a good game for him to succeed and kick off the rust.
