The New York Jets have the sixth pick in the NFL. One player that wouldn’t mind having his named called is quarterback Deshaun Watson.

After the dreadful 2016 season, the New York Jets will be selecting sixth in the 2017 NFL Draft. With some glaring needs on the team, the Jets can go in a few different directions in the first round.

On the defensive side of the ball, there is certainly a need for some help in the secondary. Whether it be a safety or a cornerback, the Jets can use all the help they can get after seeing the quick decline of Darrelle Revis.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Jets could certainly use some help along their offensive line. Due to injuries, the offensive line really struggled, but this is a unit that is in need of some talented young players.

In addition to the offensive line needing help, the Jets, of course, will entertain the idea of a drafting a quarterback. Due to Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg still being unknown development players, the Jets will have a void at the quarterback position when the draft rolls around in all likelihood.

One quarterback that could be there and would like playing in New York is Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson.

"“I wouldn’t mind it,” said Watson on Thursday via Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. “I wouldn’t mind coming to New York.”"

Watson had a great career at Clemson, and he ended it with an upset win against Alabama in the National Title Game. While we are still early in the draft process, many believe Watson to be a Top-10 pick as of now.

The real question is whether or not the Jets would be willing to take Watson with the sixth overall pick. The Jets just recently invested a second round pick in Christian Hackenberg, and selecting Watson in the first round would signal that the Jets have given up on him already.

However, if the Jets believe that Watson can be a franchise quarterback, then they must take him. For far too many years, the Jets have been starving for a franchise quarterback. If Watson is that guy, the Jets should be all-in for him.
