The Brooklyn Nets had yet another rough night against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

The Brooklyn Nets struggled on the second night of their back-to-back. After losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers 124-116 last night, the Nets were blown out by the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.

The loss is the fifth consecutive for the Nets and 16th in their last 17 games. They now have a putrid 2-21 record away from Barclays Center and remain the only team in the NBA that has yet to reach double-digit wins.

The Timberwolves pulled off a wire-to-wire victory as the Nets never had a lead. This is also the 11th time this season that the Nets have lost by 20 or more points. Tonight it was a methodicalΒ win for the Timberwolves, who won ever quarter.

While the losses continue to pile up, the Nets are at least getting some valuable minutes for their younger players they hope are foundation pieces for the future. If they want to remain a part of the plan, they will have to improve defensively.

More from Brooklyn Nets

Minnesota shot 51.1 percent tonight, including 45 percent from deep. They had six players finish with double-digit points, including their whole starting lineup. Shabazz Muhammad was the bench player to hit double-figures, as he poured in 18 points.

Scoring is obviously not a problem for the Nets; they had six players of their own in double-figures. But, they just cannot slow down opponents who score with ease on a nightly basis. It is something they will have to get turned around if they want to start picking up some victories.

Three Stars

C Karl-Anthony Town, Timberwolves β€” Towns was a monster tonight for Minnesota. He got off to a hot start and never cooled down. He scored a game-high 37 points in an array of ways. He shot 15-of-26 from the field, including 2-of-3 from deep. Had he shot better from the foul line, where he was 5-of-8, Towns could have had a 40-point game. He also added 13 rebounds for his 36th double-double of the season to go along with one assist, one steal, and four blocks.

C Brook Lopez, Nets β€” Lopez had a strong game for the Nets to try and keep pace with Towns. He had 25 points of his own, going 10-of-15 from the field, including 3-of-6 from deep and 2-of-3 from the foul line. He added seven rebounds as well and was active defensively with one steal and two blocks. He remains productive despite the Nets not winning any games.

PF Gorgui Dieng, Timberwolves β€” Dieng combined with Towns was too much for the Nets to handle inside. Dieng also had a double-double, scoring 12 points with 10 rebounds. He also had four assists and two steals for a strong all-around game.
