Brooklyn Nets: 5 Potential Trade Destinations for Brook Lopez

3.) New Orleans Pelicans
With one of the best players in the NBA, the New Orleans Pelicans are trying to make the playoffs this season. With the eighth spot very much in reach in the Western Conference this season, the Pelicans could be one of the teams that look to make a big move. Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the NBA, but he needs help.
This season, Davis is averaging 27.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. Despite his great individual talents, the Pelicans are still under .500. It would be foolish of the organization not to surround Davis with the best possible talent, and this could be the year they try and do that.
While Davis is frequently used at center, he is certainly athletic enough to play power forward. Pairing two giants in the front court would usually cause spacing issues, however, both Davis and Lopez have nice jump shots for their size. We have seen Lopez’s ability to shoot corner three-pointers this season, and spacing with Davis wouldn’t be an issue at all.
Pairing Davis along with Lopez would instantly give the Pelicans one of the best frontcourts in the NBA. Even though many teams play small now, the Pelicans would be able to go in the opposite direction with their size advantage.
