Round 3: Pat Elflein; Center, Ohio State

The Giants offensive line was woeful at times last season as a result of poor play and injuries. If the want to succeed in 2017, they need to upgrade the offensive line. I have the Giants addressing the interior with one of the top center prospects in Ohio State’s Pat Elflein.

Elflein has been compared to another former Buckeye, New York Jets long-time center Nick Mangold. While slightly smaller than Mangold, Elflein has a great jump off the snap and ability to stay low and drive against bigger opponents.

While he has been great on the field, he’s even more impressive off the field. He earned the prestigious Iron Buckeye Award, which is given to six Ohio State players bi-annually for unquestioned physical training dedication, determination, discipline, toughness, and leadership.

Elflein could be a day one starter and possibly a long-term answer at center for the Giants for years to come.
