Round 2: Dion Dawkins OT: Temple

It’s no secret that the Jets’ offensive line was a disaster this past season, especially the tackle positions. It’s all but certain that New York will be moving on from Clady and Giacomini the Jets have major holes at the tackle position.

Dawkins was a three-year letter winner for the Temple Owls and could be a starting left tackle in the NFL. At 6’5″ and 315 pounds, he has the size and quickness required for the position. However, some of the knocks on Dawkins have been his technique and his ability to handle speed rushers. Still, he would be a starting tackle for the Jets which is something the team desperately needs.

Round 3: Jordan Leggett: TE: Clemson

Over the past two seasons, the Jets have been dead last in tight end production. With a new offensive scheme next year, the team will need to address this position and could find a nice steal in the early third round with Leggett.

In 2016, Leggett had 46 catches for 736 yards and 7 touchdowns, including 7 catches for 95 yards in the National Championship game. With great size at 6’5 and 260 pounds, Leggett has shown not only does he have the hands to play the position, but the speed to be dangerous when he has the ball. While his blocking needs work, the ability he could bring in the passing game could provide a valuable for whoever the quarterback is for New York in 2017.
