New York Knicks. MAURICE NDOUR. C. . Small Forward

Maurice Ndour was a player that the Knicks liked during 2015 Summer League play. They were unable to bring him on the roster, as the Dallas Mavericks gave him more money. They got another shot to bring him aboard in 2016 and this time they were able to make it happen.

But, with the other moves, the team made in the offseason there hasn’t been many minutes for Ndour. He has not been part of the rotation during the season, getting spot minutes here and there during blowouts or when the team is shorthanded.

He has played in only 132 minutes and is not in any of the Knicks’ top 20 lineups for minutes played on Basketball Reference. But, the Knicks are almost even with him on the court with an offensive rating of 106.5 and a defensive rating of 106.8. So, in the minutes that he has received, he has not really hurt the Knicks much, but he hasn’t really helped much either.

Even if an injury occurs it is hard to imagine Ndour getting consistent minutes. Even with all of the injuries they have dealt with so far, he has received more DNP’s and been inactive more times than he has gotten into a game. This is a slight disappointment as the Knicks had high hopes for him during the training camp, but he does not seem to have been able to carry it over to the regular season.
