The New York Islanders have a storied history in the NHL. Recently they have been trying to build through the NHL Draft. Who are the best five draft picks since 2007?

The New York Islanders were a true dynasty in the early 1980s. Winning four straight Stanley Cups, they proved to be one of the best franchises in the NHL. Recently, the Islanders have struggled to find that same success.

Without a ton of draw to sign premier free agents, the Islanders have tried to build through the NHL Draft. Like in all sports, drafting is extremely important. You will be hard-pressed to find a successful organization that isn’t able to draft well.
