Number 10: Morris “Red” Badgro (1927-35)

Red Badgro was one of the most versatile athletes of his time. He played both professional football and professional baseball after attending the University of Southern California, and in his one year as a New York Yankee, he won a World Series.

He experienced much more longevity during professional football career as a Giant. He played both sides of the ball but is highly acclaimed as a great defensive lineman. He was considered to be a sure-handed tackler and was a key member of two championship teams.

People forget that Badgro is the first player to score a touchdown in an NFL Championship game in 1933. He also tied the NFL crown for 16 receptions in 1934.

Badgro couldn’t be considered higher than 10 on the list because he was not a true pass rusher. He is one of the most underrated athletes to ever exist, but he is nowhere near the top of top defensive linemen in Big Blue history.
