New York Knicks Rumors: Carmelo Anthony told Newsday that he would possibly be willing to waive his no-trade clause if the organization wanted to go in a different direction.

New York Knicks rumors have popped up once again involving Carmelo Anthony. Despite his insistence on staying with the Knicks, discussions about a potential trade still pop up. Ths time, Anthony has stirred the pot.

Anthony has made it clear that he wants to remain with the Knicks. He pushed for a trade to the Knicks from the Denver Nuggets and re-signed with them as a free agent in 2014 despite other suitors. He wanted a no-trade clause and received it because this is where he wants to be.

It would have seemed that any trade rumors including Anthony would have been put to bed after his discussion earlier this week with Phil Jackson. Anthony once again reaffirmed his desire to not only stay with the Knicks but win in New York. But, if that is not what the team wants, Anthony would be willing to consider waiving his no-trade clause.

More from Carmelo Anthony

In an interview with Newsday, Anthony revealed that if the front office wants to head in a different direction, such as rebuilding, he consider leaving the team.

"“I think it will be more on the front office,” Anthony told Newsday this week. “I have the power, but still I would talk to them. We would be in communication if they feel like they want to go in a different direction, they want to start rebuilding for the future. If they tell me they want to scrap this whole thing, yeah, I have to consider it.”"

The Knicks declined to comment with Newsday. While things with the Knicks are rocky, Anthony said that his family is settled, as they love it in New York. Anthony is also committed to the cause and wants to turn around the Knicks fortunes despite not seeing eye-to-eye with Jackson.

The Knicks are currently struggling with a record of 19-25. It would be easy for Anthony to jump ship now with how much the team is struggling. But, he does not want to turn his back on his teammates and the organization, even though it would be easy for him to do so.

"“It’s hard for me to think about that right now,” Anthony said. “When you’re in the middle of battling, whether we’re winning or losing, me personally, it’s hard to even sit down and say, ‘[Expletive] I want to get out of here.’“There’s a part of me that also would feel like I’m being selfish to the guys that are on the team right now, in the midst of us losing to just try to figure a way to escape from everything. For me personally, it would be more of something I would really have to think about and consider. Put it all on the table and figure it out.”"

Anthony has been taking all of the brunt from the media. He has put himself out there because he has to, while the Knicks management doesn’t answer any questions in regard to him.

Anthony has once again put the pressure on the front office. He has made it known he wants to be here and will remain here unless they want to go in a different direction.

Anthony would still have a say in where he goes, so at the end of the day he still has a lot of the power. But it sounds like it will take a lot for him to change his mind and willingly leave New York.
