New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada fell of the MLB Hall Of Fame Ballot after his first season of being eligible.

The New York Yankees have one of the most storied histories in any sport. They have 22 players and coaches enshrined in Cooperstown and 37 people in their Monument Park. Out of those 37 people, 19 of them are Hall of Famers. One player that will not be joining both lists is Jorge Posada.

The longtime Yankees catcher received his Monument Park plaque in 2015 and was on the Hall of Fame ballot for the first time this year. It will be the one and only time that he is on the ballot, as Posada fell short of the mandatory votes to remain on the ballot another year.

To remain on the ballot, a player must be named on at least five percent of ballots submitted. Posada came short of that number, finishing with only 17 votes and 3.8 percent of the ballots.

Posada was a great player for the Yankees, but has been deemed not Hall of Fame worthy. He was a five-time All-Star and five-time Silver Slugger award winner. He spent his whole 17-year career in pinstripes, winning a World Series championship four times with the Yankees.

Posada will be remembered as part of the Core Four along with Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, and Mariano Rivera. The four experienced a ton of success with the Yankees and they are hoping that a new Core Four is on the horizon with the influx of talent they have added to the farm system in recent seasons.

Posada finished his career with a slash line of .273/.374/.474, hitting 275 home runs with 1,065 RBI and 900 runs scored. He had 1,664 hits in his career as well.

While Posada will not be a member of the Hall of Fame, former Yankee Tim Raines was finally voted into the Hall of Fame in his last year on the ballot. Joining him in the Hall of Fame class of 2017 will be Ivan Rodriguez and Jeff Bagwell.
