Number Two: Resigning Hankins and JPP

Every Giants fan is raised to say, “We love our defense,” and this year we could say that with a ton of pride. The defense looked incredible once it started to gel about halfway through the season, and it continued its dominance all the way to the end.

In a rare state, our defense was lead by a stalwart secondary with the likes of “Jackrabbit” Janoris Jenkins, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Eli Apple, and of course Landon Collins.  The pass rush was ruptured by an injury to Jason Pierre-Paul but still was great at run stopping without him.

Reese has to focus in on bringing bothJohnathan Hankins and Pierre-Paul back, a plan which he has deemed possible because it will allow him to draft a pass rushing piece in the first round of this year’s draft.

That will allow defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo to get into the exotic blitz packages he loves to use.  With Vernon and Pierre-Paul rushing on the outside, paired with Hankins and Damon “Snacks” Harrison plugging up the middle, the Giants defense will be scary alongside this secondary.
