Recent New York Yankees rumors have been about whether or not Alex Rodriguez is planning a comeback. Does the slugger have a comeback plan in mind?

It was a very strange season for the Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees. After having a great 2015 season, Rodriguez was never able to get it going for the Yankees in 2016. His poor production resulted in him barely playing, and then eventually retiring during the season.

With milestones within reach for Rodriguez, many believed that we haven’t seen the last of him on the field. According to Rodriguez’s spokesman Ron Berkowitz, there is not plan for Rodriguez to make a comeback.

“Nothing new, status quo,” A-Rod’s spokesman, Ron Berkowitz, said to Brendan Kuty of NJ.com. “As of now, nothing has changed.”

Since retiring, Rodriguez has become a special instructor for the Yankees to help groom some of their young talents in the minor leagues. With two very talented shortstops in Jorge Mateo and Gleyber Torres, the Yankees hope Rodriguez can help show them the ropes.

In addition to helping the Yankees as a special assistant, Rodriguez has also been a commentator on FOX. As an analyst, Rodriguez has done very well alongside Frank Thomas and Pete Rose.

With 700 career home runs being so close, the temptation to come back for Rodriguez can surely be there to reach milestones. However, he seems to be loyal to the Yankees and doesn’t appear to be all that interested in attempting a comeback for the 2017 season.

Expect to see a lot of Rodriguez around the team for spring training in the next few months. Towards the end of his career, he proved that he was a great person for younger players to be around, and now he will try to help groom the next great batch of Yankees.
