5. Green Bay Packers

The Packers come into the postseason as arguably the hottest team in the NFL. They are riding a six-game winning streak, as they needed each and every win to steal the NFC North from the Lions. Leading the charge was Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers was outstanding for the Packers to finish the season, and really all year. Talks of him being over the hill were premature, as he finished the season with 40 touchdowns to only seven interceptions and with no semblance of a running game. He hasn’t thrown an interception since a Week 10 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Since that time, Rodgers has led the Packers to a 6-1 record, throwing for 18 touchdowns, zero interceptions, and 2,108 yards. A huge part of that success is courtesy of Jordy Nelson, who has bounced back in a big way from his ACL injury. He also received outstanding contributions from Davante Adams, who struggled mightily in 2015 but had a career season in 2016.

The Packers also feature a defense that is hitting its stride at the right time. They have surrendered only 18.7 points per game during the six-game winning streak. The defense is an aggressive unit that takes advantage of opportunities presented to them; they have the sixth best turnover ratio in the NFL with +8. Their 17 interceptions are tied for the second-most in the NFL.

Things are clicking for the Packers who have a lot of things working in their favor heading into the postseason. They are a dangerous team, especially with Ty Montgomery taking over the backfield with Christine Michael to help take pressure off Rodgers.
