New York Giants: Eli Manning Pokes Fun at Wide Receivers
By Nick Ziegler
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning had some fun with his wide receivers, who were recently seen partying in Miami on their off day.
The New York Giants have a huge game coming up on Sunday in the NFC Wild Card Round against the Green Bay Packers. On their off-day, Giants wide receivers were seen partying in Miami with Justin Bieber and others.
While many won’t like players partying the week of a playoff game, quarterback Eli Manning didn’t seem to mind it. As a two-time Super Bowl Champion, the response from Manning about his wide receivers partying was pretty comical.
“As a team we kind of always pride ourselves on being well prepared, so when I saw some of those pictures, I was a little disappointed because obviously, they didn’t pack accordingly. They didn’t have any shirts, all long pants, no shorts, no flip-flops or anything,” quarterback Eli Manning said to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com. “So I was disappointed in their packing and not being prepared for that situation.”
With a cold weather game coming in Green Bay on Sunday, Manning joked that his receivers were trying to get all the warm weather they could.
“If guys want to get away for the day, I think they were a little low on the vitamin D and wanted to get some sunshine, get their vitamin D up to stay healthy for the cold weather in Green Bay,” he said to Raanan.
Instead of being in Miami, Manning was at the Giants’ facility preparing for the game on Sunday.
“I was telling people I’m the one who took the picture,” Manning said to Raanan. “They just wouldn’t let me in with my shirt off.”

Even though it was an off-day, it isn’t a good look for the Giants heading into Green Bay. They are going to be underdogs on Sunday, and are facing one of the hottest teams in the NFL. With the offseason right around the corner, the partying in Miami could have waited until after the season.
