The Pittsburgh Penguins face the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center on December 27th, 2016. Here is all the information you need to watch the game.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and New Jersey Devils kick off their post-holiday break tonight. It will be the second consecutive game that the teams face each other in, as the Penguins defeated the Devils in the final game before the break, 4-1.

The Penguins come into the game with a record of 22-8-5 with 49 points. The Devils come in at 13-14-7 with 33 points. The Devils saw first hand just how hot the Penguins are in their last matchup.

The Penguins have been on fire throughout the month of December. They are 9-1-2 thus far, but have slowed down recently, losing three of their last five games. They have done it on the back of an explosive offense led by Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby.

Malkin has 39 points on the season, second-most in the NHL. Right behind him is Crosby, who has 24 goals and 38 total points in only 29 games played. It will be up to Cory Schnieder to slow them down tonight.

More from New Jersey Devils

For as hot as the Penguins are this month the Devils are cold. New Jersey is 3-7-2 in the month of December and have taken a steep fall in the Eastern Conference standings. The break is something that head John Hynes has welcomed for his team.

“It was nice to have a couple days away from the rink, both mentally and physically, to get refreshed,” Hynes said. “Now we need to get back to playing hockey we know we can play and that allows us to win some games.”

Schnieder echoed those words, saying, “Sometimes it’s good to get a mental break. You can’t forget about how it’s been going or how we can do better; but I think it’s also a good opportunity to take a step back, take a breath and assess where you are at, re-evaluate yourself individually, and hopefully come back with renewed energy and optimism.”

Will the Devils get some revenge on the Penguins? Or will Pittsburgh stay hot, continuing New Jersey’s struggles this month? We have all the information you need to watch the game and find out.
