New York Giants Team Grades vs Detroit Lions
Passing Offense Grade: B+
Eli Manning didn’t light the world on fire, but he did enough to get the job done. He was efficient on the afternoon and didn’t turn the ball over, which is a huge improvement over the last couple of games.
Manning completed 20-of-28 pass attempts for 201 yards and two touchdowns. It was the first time since Week 11 that Manning broke 200 yards passing and he did just enough to get the job done.
Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard did all of the damage through the air. Beckham Jr. led the way, catching six passes for 64 yards and one touchdown. Shepard caught four passes for 56 yards and one touchdown. Victor Cruz caught one deep pass down the sideline for 29 yards in what could be his home game as a member of the New York Giants.
The offensive line was better, but Manning still faced some pressure against a team that hasn’t been able to generate it basically all season. Manning was sacked twice and hit three times. He was able to avoid the rush with quick passes with quick passes, but it would be nice to see him get time to take a few deep shots.
