In NFL Week 14, the Jets vs 49ers matchup will not be appealing to most NFL fans. However, here are five players to watch.

It is very rare to see a Jets vs 49ers matchup, however, the two will be battling in Week 14. It has been an awful season for both the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets. While the Jets had some playoff expectations this season, the 49ers are right about where many figured they would be.

Coming into Week 14, this game actually does have some meaning. With a 1-11 record, the 49ers currently would be picking 2nd in the 2017 NFL Draft. For the Jets, they would be picking fifth if the season ended today.

While some don’t like their teams losing, both teams have clearly given up on their seasons. With a few possible quarterbacks projected to go at the top of the draft, a win or a loss could be the difference between finding a franchise quarterback.

This game will be an audition for two quarterbacks. For the 49ers, Colin Kaepernick will continue to try and find the success that he had a few seasons ago. With Kaepernick’s time in San Fransico likely over after the season, he will be trying to impress other teams.

For the Jets, Sunday will be the second start of the season for Bryce Petty. On Monday Night Football, Petty started the second half for the Jets when they were trailing 24-3. The results weren’t very good for Petty in the loss. However, it is unfair to judge him without the proper preparation.

It might not be the prettiest game to watch, but here are five players to watch for Sunday afternoon.
