Cowboys vs Giants: Five Players to Watch on Sunday Night Football
By Nick Ziegler
Ezekiel Elliott
On Sunday, the Giants will have been completely focused on stopping Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott. In his rookie season, Elliott has proved to be a great running back already. Some were shocked when the Cowboys selected Elliott with the fourth overall pick. However, this has been a great decision by the Cowboys front office.
Running behind the best offensive line in football, Elliott has totaled 1,295 rushing yards, 4.9 yards per carry average, and 12 rushing touchdowns. In addition to being a great runner, Elliott has also been a factor in the passing game for the Cowboys. This season, Elliott has totaled 28 receptions, 322 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown.

In the loss to the Steelers, the Giants had a lot of problems stopping a talented running back in Le’Veon Bell. While Elliott and Bell are a different type of running back, the concern about stopping Elliott has to be there for the Giants. In Week 1, the Giants did a very good job containing Elliott. In the win, Elliott only 51 rushing yards in his worst game of the season. If the Giants are able to replicate that, they might be able to defeat Dallas for the second time this season.
