The New York Giants were unable to secure a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. What were five takeaways from the loss?

After winning six straight games, the New York Giants had their winning streak snapped in Pittsburgh. The past few weeks, the Giants haven’t been all that impressive against poor teams.

In their two most recent wins against the Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns, the Giants let both teams to hang around. Many feared that this was a sign of bad things to come against a talented Steelers team. On Sunday, it proved to be just that.

From the start of the game, the Giants were outplayed by the Steelers. While Pittsburgh doesn’t have the record that they would have liked so far this season, they are a team on the rise. The past few games, the offense of the Giants has been heavily scrutinized.

While the Steelers are a great offense team, their defense leaves a lot to be desired. However, the Steelers defense held the Giants to just 14 points in the win. Even more impressive was that the Giants didn’t score their second touchdown until late in the fourth quarter with the game already over.

For the Giants, this loss really hurts their chances of catching the Cowboys in the NFC East. With their second game coming next week, the Giants could have put some pressure on them in the standings.

Now, the Giants must worry about proving that they can, in fact, play with teams of playoff caliber. The Steelers exposed some weaknesses of the Giants, and they can’t afford to let losses mount.

Here are five takeaways from the Giants loss on Sunday.
